Britos Tied For 9th After WAC Round 2

Round 2 Results

MESA, Ariz. – University of Hawai'i women's golfer Kaili Britos is tied for ninth place after the second round of the Western Athletic Conference Championships, Saturday, at the Longbow Golf Club.
 
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine are in fourth place with a two-round score of 616 after posting a 311 on Saturday. San Jose State (590) holds a one stroke lead over New Mexico State (591), followed by Nevada (613), UH, Boise State (619), Idaho (619), and Fresno State (623).
 
Britos, a sophomore from Honolulu, shot a 4-over 75 in her second round and is 9-over 151 for the tournament. She is 12 strokes off the lead held by San Jose State's Madeleine Ziegert, who shot a blistering second round 4-under 67. Ziegert holds a one stroke lead over Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro.
 
Junior Erika Lundberg is tied for 14th, two strokes behind Britos, after firing a second round 78. For the tournament, the Vallentuna, Sweden native is 11-over 153. Sophomore Brigitte Baker is in a three-way tie for 20th at 156. Freshman Anna DePalma improved one stroke from her first round with a 78 and is tied for 23rd at 157 while junior Madeleine Ystrom is 34th at 167.
 
The tournament concludes on Sunday.
