Men's Tennis to Play Trio of WAC Road Matches

FRESNO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team heads to California where it will play its final three regular-season league matches against New Mexico State, Nevada and No. 52 Boise State. All three matches will be held at the Wathen Tennis Center on the campus of Fresno State.
 
The Aggies (9-6) have only competed in one Western Athletic Conference match this season, suffering a loss to Utah State. However, New Mexico State has one nationally ranked singles player, No. 64 Arthur Surreaux, who is also ranked No. 76 in doubles with partner Jim Brouleau. The pair has a dual match record of 10-8 on the season.
 
Nevada (5-9) has struggled this season but picked up two wins in a row against Sonoma State and San Francisco. Senior, Kristian Kuharszky and Victor Ouvrard are leading the Wolf Pack in singles action as both men nabbed three straight victories.
 
No. 52 Boise State (13-10) is on an impressive six-match win streak with its last two victories coming as 7-0 shutouts. The Broncos Damian Hume is ranked No. 120 in singles and No. 82 in doubles with partner Scott Sears. Andrew Bettles is on a commanding streak in singles, winning his last eight matches in a row. Bettles and Filipp Pogostkin are on a 10-match win streak in doubles action with a 13-5 record on the season.
 
The Warriors (5-10) are 1-2 against conference opponents this season, falling short to then- No. 54 Idaho and then- No. 44 Fresno State and picking up a victory against Utah State last week. Freshman Jonathan Brooklyn is on a five-match win streak in singles action and has gone 7-3 in his last ten matches.
