Rainbows Shut Out Centenary, 5-0

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i baseball team shut out Centenary College today, 5-0. Zach Gallagher pitched the Rainbows (10-9) to their first shutout win of the season. Centenary fell to 3-9. 

Gallagher improved to 3-0, equaling a team-high in wins. He tossed six complete innings allowing just two hits with three strikeouts. Randy Yard came on in the seventh inning to earn his first save of the season. Laetten Galbraith (0-2) was tagged with the loss for the Gents. He allowed two runs on six hits in three innings of work. 

Jesse Moore had his best hitting performance of the season. He batted 3-4 with one run and three RBI, and was just a homerun shy of batting for the cycle. After the 'Bows had built a 3-0 lead through five innings, UH put the game away with two sixth-inning runs. Moore's triple knocked in Pi'ikea Kitamura from third base to give UH a 4-0 lead, then Breland Almadova (2 H, 2 RBI) drove Moore home with an RBI-single. 

Michael Blake and Kalani Brackenridge each posted one hit and one RBI, with Kolten Wong adding two hits. 

Kyle Morton led Centenary with two hits. 

There were 2,656 tickets issued for the contest and a turnstile count of 1,277. 

The 'Bows and Gents conclude their series tomorrow night. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
