Women’s Golf Completes Play At Wildcat Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team completed the University of Arizona's Wildcat Invitational Tuesday in 16th place.
 
The Rainbow Wahine shot rounds of 315, 319, and 335 for a 969 total during the two-day tournament at the Vistoso Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.
 
Junior Erika Lundberg was UH's top finisher in a tie for 52nd place at 21-over 237 (81-81-75). The Vallentuna, Sweden native concluded the tournament with a 3-over 75 on Tuesday, which included two birdies and 11 pars.
 
Sophomore Brigitte Baker tied for 55th place with a 22-over 238 (81-76-81). Freshman Madeleine Ystrom fell off the pace with a 245 total (75-80-90) and 74th place finish. Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine were freshman Charlee Kapiooho (78-82-94=254/79th) and freshman Anna DePalma (96-89-89=274/83rd).
 
Host and ninth-ranked Arizona won the tournament by 11 strokes over California with an 875 total (286-286-303) while UA's Isabelle Boineau took titleist honors with a three-round score of 4-under 212 (69-70-73).
 
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational, Feb. 28-March 1 in San Jose, Calif.
