TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team opened its spring season at the Wildcat Invitational Monday, hosted by the University of Arizona at The Golf Club at Vistoso.
Play was suspended for the day with a few golfers still needing to complete their second round. All UH golfers completed their 36 holes on Monday and the Rainbow Wahine are currently in a tie for 15th place with Oregon State with 634 total.
The field is loaded with seven nationally ranked teams including No. 9 Arizona, which leads the field by two strokes with two golfers still on the course.
Freshman
Madeleine Ystrom leads UH with a 36-hole score of 155 (75-80), good for a tie for 48
th. The Stockholm, Sweden native shot an opening round 75, which included three birdies, but dropped back in the second round.
Sophomore
Brigitte Baker is two strokes back with rounds of 81 and 76. Her second round included a nine-hole stretch in which she shot 3-under par. Baker is currently tied for 58
th with a 157 total.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with an 18-hole finish.
