Warrior Golf Remains In 18th At Ameri Ari Invite

Round 2 Results

WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team is in 18th place after two rounds of the Ameri Ari Invitational, Thursday, at the Waikoloa Kings' Course. The Warriors carded rounds of 292 and 295 for a 587 total (+11).
 
Leading UH is junior #T.J. Kua# at four-under par, 140 (69-71). Kua sunk four birdies on the day, bringing his total to nine in the tournament so far. He goes into the final round tied for 18th.
 
Just two shots back of Kua is freshman Nainoa Calip in a tie for 30th place (70-72=142). Also competing for the Warriors are senior Kamden Brakel, who shaved 13 strokes off his first round score to end the day in 108th (84-71=155), sophomore Cory Oride (78-81=159/111th), and freshman David Saka (75-86=161/112th).
 
No. 4 Oklahoma State tops the team standings at 25-under par (278-273=551), and will have a seven-stroke advantage over No. 2 UCLA going into the final round. Daniel Miernicki of Oregon held onto the individual lead, after carding an impressive nine-under, 62 in the first round. He currently sits at 13-under par (131), two strokes ahead of the competition.
 
The tournament concludes Friday with the third and final round.
