Final Results
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in 17
th place Sunday at the Classic Club.
The day began with the completion of Round 2, which was suspended Saturday due to darkness. The Warriors shot a 313 as a team in the round while freshman
Nainoa Calip was tied for 20
th after shooting a 3-over 75 and was 5-over for the tournament.
The course proved rather difficult for the 20-team field as only three golfers posted scores under par in their second round.
The third and final round was even more challenging as the Warriors' best score was
T.J. Kua's 3-over 75. The junior concluded the tournament tied with Calip as the team's top finishers at 14-over 230. After starting the tournament with rounds of 74 and 75, Calip struggled to a final round 81.
Freshman
Tommy Yamashita tied for 81
st with a three-round score of 239 (76-80-83) while sophomore
Henry Park tied for 88
th at 242 (83-78-81). After being disqualified in Round 1, senior
Kamden Brakel finished the tournament with rounds of 82 and 79.
The Warriors return to California next week to compete in the Fresno State Lexus Classic, March 7-8 in Fresno, Calif.
