Men’s Golf Opens Ameri Ari Invite

Round 1 Results

WAIKOLOA, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team began spring season play with the first round of the Ameri Ari Invitational, Wednesday, at the Waikoloa Kings' Course. The Warriors, co-hosting the tournament along with UH Hilo, are currently in 18th place (292) in a field that includes eight of the Top 25 teams in the nation.
 
 
Also competing for the Warriors are freshman David Saka (75/T88th), sophomore Cory Oride (78/T108th), and senior Kamden Brakel (84/114th).
 
No. 24 USC leads the team standings at 17-under par (271), while Oregon's Daniel Miernicki leads individually at 10-under par (62), four shots ahead of the competition.
 
The tournament continues Thursday with the second round and concludes Friday with the third and final round.
