Men's Basketball Set For Rematch With Pacific

Game Notes

STOCKTON, Calif. –The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior basketball team (2-3) faces Pacific (3-3) for the second time in 12 days when the teams meet on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. HT) at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
 
Hawai'i won the first meeting in Honolulu, 75-70, on Nov. 25. The Rainbow Warriors led for the majority of the game but needed a Garrett Jefferson put-back with 3.1 seconds left to secure the win.
 
The 'Bows face the Tigers after suffering a disappointing 73-67 loss at Pepperdine on Saturday night. The game was tied at halftime, however, the Waves took control of the game in the second half and held on for the win. Senior guard Zane Johnson was one of four Rainbow Warriors to foul out of the game and finished with a season-low nine points after entering the game averaging a team-high 17.8 ppg. Freshman Shaquille Stokes recorded 18 points in the loss, while junior Hauns Brereton finished with a career-best 14 points.
 
Pacific, meanwhile, has gone 1-1 since the first meeting with UH. The Tigers lost at Stanford (79-37) on Nov. 28 and are coming off a solid 65-57 win over Western Athletic Conference squad Utah State on Saturday night.
 
UH and Pacific will become conference rivals next year when the Rainbow Warriors join the Big West.  Following its game at Pacific, UH returns home to face another Big West team in UC Davis on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 5:00 p.m.
