Warriors Head To Reno For Nationally Televised Game At Nevada

Game Notes

The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will look to rebound following a heartbreaking loss last week with a nationally televised game at Nevada, Saturday, Nov. 12. Kick-off for the Western Athletic Conference contest is 7:15 p.m. PT (5:15 p.m. HT) at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev.

The Warriors (5-4, 3-2 WAC) saw their WAC title hopes take a drastic hit following a 35-31 home loss to Utah State last Saturday. UH let a 28-7 halftime lead disappear in the closing seconds of the game, as USU tailback Robert Turbin scored the game-winning touchdown from a yard out with 14 seconds left. Hawai'i quarterback Bryant Moniz accounted for four touchdowns (2 passing and 2 rushing) in the first half, but the Warriors could only muster 168 yards of total offense and a field goal after halftime.

The Wolf Pack (5-3, 3-0) enters the game having won their last four games after starting the season 1-3, which included losses at nationally ranked teams Oregon and Boise State. Nevada, which leads the WAC with a 3-0 mark, ranks fifth nationally in total offense (524.3) and seventh in rushing offense (266.9).

The teams have met 15 previous times with UH holding a slight 8-7 advantage. In WAC play, the Warriors have won seven of the 11 meetings, including last year's 27-21 victory in Honolulu. Moniz finished that game 26-of-36 for 287 yards and three touchdowns as the Warriors held off the No. 19 Wolf Pack.
