Warriors To Make Final WAC Visit To Idaho

The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team will look to stay in the Western Athletic Conference race with a league game at Idaho, Saturday, Oct 29. Kickoff is 2:00 p.m. PT (11:00 a.m. HT) at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho.
 
The Warriors (4-3, 2-1 WAC) are coming off a 45-34 victory over New Mexico State last Saturday at Aloha Stadium. Quarterback Bryant Moniz accounted for four touchdowns - two through the air and two on the ground - while amassing 362 yards of total offense against the Aggies. UH rushed for a season-best 227 yards led by running back Joey Iosefa, who had 90 yards and two scores. Linebacker Aaron Brown had a team-high 12 tackles and one sack while John Hardy-Tuliau blocked a punt which was returned by Kamalani Alo for a touchdown.
 
The Vandals (1-6, 0-3), coming off a bye week, have lost their last five games, including all three league contests. Idaho is 1-3 at the Kibbie Dome this season, with losses to Fresno State and Louisiana Tech. The Vandals' lone win was a 44-14 victory over North Dakota in Moscow.
 
Idaho ranks No. 114 nationally in total offense, averaging only 291.7 yards per game while its pass defense is 107th. In contrast, UH has the eighth-most potent passing attack in the country at 328 yards per game while its defense ranks 46th.
 
UH leads the series 9-2, however, the Vandals won the last meeting in Moscow, 35-23 in 2009.

Series Information: UH leads the series 9-2. The Warriors won the last meeting 45-10 in its homecoming game last season. A year earlier, the Vandals snapped the Warriors' seven-game stranglehold of the series with a 35-23 victory in Moscow. Since the Vandals joined the WAC in 2004, UH has a 6-1 advantage. The Warriors have averaged 45.9 points per game during that span, including a 68-10 win in 2006, which was the second most points scored in a game in school history.

UH leads the overall series 9-2, including a 2-1 advantage in Moscow. Idaho won the last meeting in Moscow, 35-23, in 2009…Since Idaho joined the WAC, UH has won six of the seven meetings and have averaged 45.9 points per game…In the three games played in Moscow, UH has averaged 31.7 points per game…Under head coach Greg McMackin, UH is 9-13 in road games, including a 2-6 mark in non-conference games and 7-7 record in WAC games…Linebacker Art Laurel has at least one sack in each of the past five games and leads the team with seven this season…UH ranks third nationally with 26 sacks and 16th in turnovers forced with 16…Running back Joey Iosefa has rushed for 270 yards and four touchdowns in the last three games…Quarterback Bryant Moniz ranks seventh nationally in total offense (342.4) and eighth in passing yards per game (306.4)…One UH player has scored at least two touchdowns in each game this season.
