No. 8 Women's Volleyball Hosts A Pair Against Notre Dame

HONOLULU - The No. 8 University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team takes a break from Western Athletic Conference play to host a pair of matches against Notre Dame. The Rainbow Wahine come in with an overall record of 17-1, while the Fighting Irish are currently 11-6.

The 'Bows are coming off a pair of WAC road wins, including a five-set thriller against New  Mexico State broadcasted nationally on ESPNU. They followed that win up with a crushing straight-set defeat of Louisiana Tech.

Emily Hartong (.398) and Brittany Hewitt (.363) remain No. 1 and No. 2 in the WAC in hitting percentage, with Hewitt leading the conference in both blocks (88.0) and blocks per set (1.42).

Hawai'i is 7-1 all-time versus Notre Dame.

What: No.8 Hawai'i vs.Notre Dame
When: Monday, Oct. 17 and  Tuesday, Oct. 18. Both matches are at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Honolulu, O'ahu (Stan Sheriff Center, 10,300)
Television: OCSports – Channels 12 (SD) and 1012 (HD) will be broadcasting both matches. Jim Leahey will be calling the play-by-play with Chris McLachlin doing color commentary.

Promotions: University of Hawaii fans are invited to remain in the arena to watch Monday's of “Hawaii Five-O,” which was filmed in part in the Stan Sheriff Center and other UH Manoa campus locations. The Hawaii Five-O episode is scheduled to air at 9:00 p.m. and will be shown on the arena's four new HD-quality scoreboard video screens, which are 21 feet wide and 12 feet high. The concession stands and the Rainbowtique store (located near Gate B) will remain open during the Hawaii Five-O episode.
