Men’s Basketball Clashes With Utah State In WAC Showdown

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (12-8, 3-5 WAC) will be “All In Against The Aggies” when the 'Bows face conference leader No. 25 Utah State (19-2, 8-0 WAC) to conclude a three-game homestand Saturday, Jan. 29. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawai`i is riding a three-game WAC win streak with victories over Louisiana Tech, Fresno State and San Jose State. With the first round of WAC play complete UH has climbed back towards the middle of the standings after rallying from an 0-5 start. UH now plays its biggest game to date this season when it hosts the three-time defending champion Aggies who are undefeated in WAC play so far at 8-0.

UH and Utah State met earlier this year in Logan on Dec. 29 in the WAC opener for both teams. The Rainbow Warriors gave the Aggies all they could handle, trailing by just two points late in the game, before falling 74-66. UH will be seeking its first win over Utah State in three years. The Aggies have won the last five regular-season games with UH's last win in Honolulu in 2008.

Following its game against Utah State, the 'Bows will head back to the road for a pair of games at Boise State (Feb. 3) and Idaho (Feb. 5).
