Greg Salas, running back
Alex Green, and offensive lineman
Laupepa Letuli will participate in upcoming college all-star games. Green and Letuli will play for the West squad in this week's East-West Shrine Game in Orlando, Fla.
The 86th edition of the all-star game will be played at the Florida Citrus Bowl, Saturday, Jan. 22 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
In addition, Salas will play in the 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl, Saturday, Jan. 29 at the University of Alabama's Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The 62nd game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT.
Green and Letuli are the 17th and 18th players in school history to play in the East-West Shrine Game which was established in 1925.
Green finished his career rushing for 1,199 yards in 2010 becoming just the seventh Warrior to eclipse 1,000 yards and first since Travis Sims in 1992. His total was the second highest single-season mark in school history and his team-leading 17 touchdowns was two shy of the single-season record for a running back. Green also broke a 60-year old school single-game record of 327 yards rushing against New Mexico State.
Letuli was named to the all-WAC second team in 2010 and started 12 games at right tackle after starting his career playing at guard.
Salas is the 18th player in school history to receive an invitation to the Senior Bowl and first since David Veikune and Jake Ingram represented the Warriors in 2009.
During his four-year career, Salas amassed 285 receptions, 4,345 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns and is the school's career leader in receiving yards. He also broke single season records with 119 receptions and 1,889 yards in 2010. In UH's Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl loss to Tulsa, Salas had a career-high 214 yards and two touchdowns.
Salas was selected to the Associated Press All-America third team and was a semifinalist for the Fred Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation's top receiver. This past season, he finished second nationally in receiving yards per game (134.93) and third in receptions per game (8.5).
