Men’s Basketball Continues WAC Play On The Road

Game Notes

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team (9-7, 0-4 WAC) looks to get back on the winning track when it heads to the mainland for a pair of Western Athletic Conference road games this week. First up for UH is a meeting with New Mexico State (8-9, 2-1 WAC) on Thursday, Jan. 13 at the Pan American Center. Tipoff is set for  7:00 p.m. MT (4:00 p.m. HT).

UH has found the going tough since entering league play, dropping its first four WAC contests for its longest losing streak of the season. It was an especially rough weekend for the 'Bows at home with a pair of double-digit losses to Idaho (59-44) and Boise State (79-55). UH was out-scored a combined 75-39 in the second half in those two contests.

The Rainbow Warriors attempt to turn the tide in Las Cruces at a venue they have yet to win at in five attempts. The 'Bows will look to leading scorer Zane Johnson (14.5 ppg), the league's top three-point marksman (45-106, .425) as well sophomore post Vander Joaquim who is averaging 12.0 and 7.8 rpg since the beginning of WAC play.

Following its game against the Aggies, the 'Bows will travel to Ruston, La., for a meeting with Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Jan. 15.
