Wahine Conclude Turtle Bay Invite To End Fall Season

Final Results

KAHUKU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team earned a sixth place finish, Thursday, at the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational. In the final round, played on the George Fazio Course, the Rainbow Wahine posted a 314 to bring their total to 936 (310-312-314).
 
For the third tournament in a row, top-finisher for UH was sophomore Ka'ili Britos. Britos sunk five birdies and 37 pars in the invite to card a 224 (72-76-76) and tie for fifth place, her third-best career finish.
 
Just four shots back of Britos was freshman Madeleine Ystrom, posting three rounds of 76 to finish at 12-over par (228). Ystrom earned her best finish of the season by far, ending the day in 15th place.
 
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine were sophomore Brigitte Baker (83-76-79=238/T25th), freshman Charlee Kapiioho (79-84-84=247/34th), and senior Brittany Bomar (85-85-82=253/T36th)
 
Participating as individuals were freshman Anna DePalma (80-81-78=239/T27th), freshman Liana Otake (79-87-82=248/35th), and junior Megan Inouye (88-82-83=253/T36th).
 
Leader through all three rounds, Princeton captured the team title with an 897 (290-301-306).
 
Individually, Portland State's Tiffany Schoning took first, overtaking second-round leader Kelly Shon (Princeton) by firing a 69 in the final round. Schoning finished two strokes ahead of the competition at two-over par (73-76-69=218).
 
This tournament marked the end of the Rainbow Wahine's fall season. The women will return in the spring, competing in the Wildcat Invitational, Feb. 7 and 8, in Tuscon, Ariz.
