Women’s Golf Remains In Sixth; Britos In Fifth

Round 2 Results

KAHUKU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is in sixth place after two rounds of the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational, Wednesday, at the Arnold Palmer Course. The Rainbow Wahine posted a 622, with rounds of 310 and 312.
 
Still leading UH is sophomore Ka'ili Britos with a 148 (72-76). Britos began the day tied for fifth at even-par and although she gained four strokes with her second-round score, she remained in fifth place just four shots back of the individual leader.
 
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine are freshman Madeleine Ystrom (76-76=152) in a tie for 14th, sophomore Brigitte Baker (83-76=159) in 25th, freshman Charlee Kapiioho (79-84=163) in a tie for 31st, and senior Brittany Bomar (85-85=170) who is tied for 37th place.
 
Competing as individuals are freshman Anna DePalma (80-81=161/T28th), freshman Liana Otake (79-87=166/36th), and junior Megan Inouye (88-82=170/T37th). Junior Erika Lundberg posted a first-round 86 but withdrew from the second round.
 
Princeton remains atop the team standings (290-301=591) with a 12-stroke lead over UC Irvine and Portland State in a tie for second place. Kelly Shon of Princeton held on to her one-stroke lead over UC Irvine's Michelle Park after they both carded a 75 on the day. Shon goes into the final day at even-par (69-75=144) while Park sits in second at one-over par (70-75=145).
 
The tournament concludes Thursday with the third and final round.
