Final Results
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team finished in 13th place at the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational, Wednesday, at the New Mexico State University Golf Course. The Rainbow Wahine carded rounds of 311, 306, and 308 for a 925 total.
Top-finisher for UH was sophomore
Ka'ili Britos, tying for 50th place at 14-over par (78-77-75=230). Two shots back was freshman
Madeleine Ystrom who tied for 54th with an eagle on the tournament (77-72-83=232).
Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine were junior
Erika Lundberg (78-78-79=235/T65th) and senior
Brittany Bomar (78-80-81=239/T69th). Sophomore
Brigitte Baker withdrew from the first round, but posted a 79 and 73 in the second and third rounds respectively, also sinking an eagle.
Host New Mexico State (289-291-286=866) captured the team title, edging out second-round co-leader Baylor (286-295-291=871) for the win.
Individually, Lene Hafsten-Morch of Baylor took first at seven-under par (71-73-65=209). She began the day tied for eighth but worked her way to the top by firing a final-round 65. Leader through the first two rounds Jaclyn Jansen ended in a three-way tie for second.
UH heads home to host the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational, Nov. 2 through 4, at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, O'ahu.
