CORVALLIS, Ore. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team shot a 914 three-round total (301-306-307) to finish in tenth place at the Giustina Memorial Classic, Tuesday, at the Trysting Tree Golf Club.
Top finisher for the Warriors was sophomore
Jared Sawada, tying for 31
st at 10-over par. Sawada shot rounds of 72, 78, and 76 for a 226 total. Junior
Kamden Brakel finished five shots back of Sawada, earning 39
th place at 231 (74-79-78).
Also competing for UH were freshmen
Henry Park (79-72-76=232) and
Cory Oride (76-79-77=232), both tying for 40
th place, and sophomore #T.J. Kua# (80-72-83=235) who tied for 47
th.
Winning the team title was Oregon State at 20-under par (282-283-279=844). Trent Sanders of Washington State won the individual title by one stroke at nine-under par (68-68-71=207).
In two weeks, the Warriors will compete in the Prestige at PGA West, Oct. 11 through 13, La Quinta, Calif.
