Women's Golf Remains in Seventh After Round Two of WAC Championship

Round 2 Results

RENO, Nevada – The University of Hawai´i women's golf team carded a 308 in the second round of the WAC Championship, Tuesday, at the Wolf Run Golf Club. Despite improving their first-round score by 11 strokes, the Rainbow Wahine remain in seventh place with a two-round 627.
 
Currently leading UH is senior Carolina Perez who sits in a tie for 15th at 8-over par (79-73=152). Perez moved up 8 places from the first round and is one of only two players in the tournament to eagle a hole. Junior Corie Hou also moved up from the first round to sit in 26th place at 12-over par (83-73=156).
 
The two other golfers competing for the Rainbow Wahine are senior Phyllis Lai (77-81=158/T28th) and junior Erin Matsuoka (80-81=151/32nd).
 
San Jose State (285-289=574) extended their first-round lead by 4 strokes and is comfortably sitting 17 strokes ahead of defending champion Fresno State. SJSU's Katrina Delen Briones held onto her individual lead by carding a second-round 74 (67-74=141).
 
The tournament concludes Wednesday with the third and final round.
