Game Notes
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i men's basketball team looks to ride some momentum when it hosts Idaho in a Western Athletic Conference match-up on Saturday, Feb. 7. Tip-off is
6:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
After a slow conference start, UH has won two of its last three games and is coming off one of its most comfortable wins of the season, a 69-43 rout of Fresno State on Thursday night. Hawai'i improved to 3-7 in league play and remained in a tie for seventh place with Louisiana Tech in the WAC standings.
Roderick Flemings recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds versus the Bulldogs. Flemings leads the team at 17.3 ppg.
Idaho, meanwhile, will see its first action since last Saturday, when they lost to Nevada, 69-65, at home. The Vandals have been the biggest surprise so far in the WAC. Picked to finish last in both the coaches and media preseason polls, Idaho opened the year with a road upset at Nevada and currently sits in fifth place in the WAC standing with a 4-4 mark.
This will be the second meeting between the teams. UH suffered its most lopsided loss of the season when it fell to Idaho, 67-47, in Moscow on Jan. 8.
Following its game versus Idaho, the 'Bows will conclude their three-game homestand with a contest versus Nevada on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7:05 p.m.
