HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i men's basketball team begins a three-game home stand when it hosts Fresno State on Thursday, Feb. 5 in a “White-Out” game. Tip-off is 7:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
All fans are encouraged to wear white as the 'Bows face the Bulldogs for the first time this season. Thursday's game will mark the beginning of a crucial stretch for the Rainbow Warriors, who play four of their next five games at home. With league play a little more than halfway done, UH is currently in a tie for seventh place in the WAC with a 2-7 mark.
Fresno State is in ninth in the standings and just behind the 'Bows with a 1-6 record. Despite their record, the Bulldogs have proved competitive and extended first-place Utah State to overtime, before falling, 83-77, last Saturday at home.
UH, meanwhile, is coming off two-game trip that saw the team win its first road game of the year and end a season-long five game skid with a 54-53 win at Louisiana Tech on Jan. 29. Hawai`i is led by juniors
Roderick Flemings (17.5 ppg) and
Bill Amis (10.7 ppg).
Following its game versus Fresno State, the 'Bows will host Idaho on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 6:05 p.m.
