Rainbow Wahine Finish Tied for 15th at Aztec Invitational

Final Results

CHULA VISTA, Calif.- The University of Hawai'i women's golf team finished in a tie for 15th at the Aztec Invitational, Tuesday, at the Salt Creek Golf Course. The Rainbow Wahine carded scores of 304, 329, and 329 for a 962 total, tied with Santa Clara. The tournament was the first of the spring season for UH.
 
UH's top finisher was junior Corie Hou who, due to a rain delay, had to finish her second round as well as play her third round on Tuesday. Hou finished in a tie for 45th place with rounds of 73, 84, and 81 for a 238 total. Second behind Hou were seniors Carolina Perez (73-81-87=241) and Phyllis Lai (78-79-84=241), both finishing tied for 55th place. Also competing for UH was junior Erin Matsuoka (80-85-77=242) who finished in a tie for 60th place.
 
San Jose State (288-312-300=900) won the tournament's team title while UC Irvine's Hillary Packard took the individual title (68-77-73=218).
 
The Rainbow Wahine head to Fresno next to compete in the Fresno State Lexus Classic, February 23- 24.
