Men's Basketball Begins Nine-Game Homestand This Sunday

Game Notes

Roderick Flemings looking to get by a BYU defender
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior basketball team looks to end a four-game slide when it hosts Lamar in non-conference action on Sunday, Dec. 6. Tip-off is set for 5:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

It will be the first of nine straight home contests for the Rainbow Warriors who play 14 of their first 15 games at home. UH is coming off an 80-70 loss at UC Irvine on Wednesday, Dec. 2. The 'Bows nearly erased a 20-point deficit against the Anteaters but fell short in their first road outing of the season. UH looks to clamp down on defense after giving up 80 or more points in each of their last four games. Roderick Flemings leads the team at 15.0 ppg and scored a season-high 25 points in the loss at UC Irvine.

Lamar, out of the Southland Conference, comes to Honolulu with a 3-5 record. This will be the Cardinals sixth road game in their last seven contests and they dropped all five of their previous away games, including a 62-55 loss at Denver on Wednesday, Dec. 2. The teams last met in the opening round of the 2003 Rainbow Classic with UH gaining a 94-88 win.
