KAHUKU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team opened play at the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational, Monday, on the George Fazio Course at the Turtle Bay Resort. In their inaugural appearance in the tournament, the Rainbow Wahine are currently in 10
th place with a first-round score of 301, their lowest of the season.
Leading UH is freshman
Ka'ili Britos who, for the second time this season, carded a low-round of 74 (+2). Britos is currently in a tie for 23
rd place. One stroke back is junior
Brittany Bomar in a tie for 35
th place at three-over par (75).
Also competing for UH are freshman
Brigitte Baker and senior
Corie Hou, both tied for 43
rd at four-over par (76), and sophomore
Erika Lundberg who is tied for 54
th at five-over par (77).
UC Davis has a commanding lead after the first round, carding a 281 (-7), seven shots ahead of San Jose State in second place. Leading individually is Alice Kim of UC Davis at five-under par (67).
The tournament continues Tuesday with the second round being played on the Fazio Course, followed by the third round being played Wednesday on the Arnold Palmer Course.
