Kua Tied For First After Round 1 Of Kaua‘i Collegiate Invitational

Round 1 Results

LIHUE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team opened play at the Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational, Monday, at the Puakea Golf Course. Playing in his hometown, sophomore #T.J. Kua# is currently tied for first place, along with Boris Stantchev of Loyola Marymount, after firing a five-under par 67 in the first round.
 
Also competing for the Warriors are sophomore Jared Sawada (T13th) who shot a two-under par 70, junior Kamden Brakel (75/T32nd), freshman Cory Oride (77/T40th), and freshman Alex Chu (78/T45th). Participating as individuals in the tournament are sophomore Pono Calip (81/T51st) and freshman Daniel Koge (83/T54th).
 
UH is currently tied for third with Loyola Marymount at one-over par (289). Leading the team field is San Diego at 12-under par (276) followed by James Madison at two-under par (286) in second place.
 
The tournament continues Tuesday with the second round before concluding Wednesday with the third and final round.
