Women’s Tennis Pair Still Alive at ITA Regional

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Rainbow Wahine continued tournament play today at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest Regional Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
 
UH sophomore Alyssa Nafarrete came up short to Kelsy McKenna from Arizona State by a score of 6-2,6-1. Mckenna is seeded number one in the tournament singles draw and is ranked No. 7 by the ITA Women's preseason rankings. Freshman Mari Tadaki also lost her singles match today in the consolation bracket. Tadaki was defeated by Lise Marbach from San Diego 4-6,7-5,3-6.
 
In doubles action, the team of Nafarette and Tadaki came up victorious against Tiffany Mai and Mallorie De la Cruz from Fullerton State 9-8(7). They will continue their doubles play against Christi Andrews and Leyla Entehabi from USC or Annabel Glendden and Natalia Lozano from UC Santa Barbara tomorrow.
