Warriors Visit Kibbie Dome In Final Preparation For Idaho

MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Hawai'i football team completed a 70-minute walk-through practice Friday night, at the newly renovated Kibbie Dome, site of tomorrow's Western Athletic Conference showdown against league-leader Idaho.

For many of the Warriors, it was their first time in the 16,000-seat stadium. A capacity crowd is expected, including several hundred Hawai'i fans.

Kickoff is 2:00 p.m. PT (11:00 a.m. HT) and the game will be televised live on Oceanic Pay-Per-View (Channel 255). In addition, fans can listen to the game live on ESPN 1420 AM, beginning with the “Countdown To Kickoff” show at 9:30 a.m. Neighbor islands can listen live on KNUI on Maui, KPUA in Hilo, KMWB in Kona.

The Warriors (2-3, 0-2 WAC) arrived in Pullman early Thursday morning, where they are headquartered and will make the short drive across the Washington-Idaho border for the game. They held a spirited two-hour practice yesterday at Colfax High School, an 18-mile drive through rolling hills and wheat farms.

UH looks to snap a three-game losing streak after starting the season with consecutive wins over Central Arkansas and Washington State. On the other hand, Idaho (5-1, 2-0) leads the WAC standings and is one win away from becoming bowl eligible. The Vandals are also off to their best start since 1994.

The Warriors have won the last seven games against Idaho in the series and hold an 8-1 advantage, including a 2-0 mark in Moscow, Idaho. The Vandals' only victory in the series occurred in 1960.

In UH's last win at the Kibbie Dome in 2007, quarterback Colt Brennan led the Warriors to a 41-10 halftime lead en route to a 48-20 victory. Brennan finished the game with 369 yards passing and three touchdowns. However, he also tied a school record with five interceptions.

Following the game, UH will return to Honolulu, where they will prepare for next Saturday's match-up with fifth-ranked Boise State at Aloha Stadium.
