Round 1 Results
LA QUINTA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team competed on the first day of The Prestige at PGA West tournament by shooting a first round 312, Sunday, at the TPC Stadium Course.
The Warriors are in 13th place in the highly competitive field, which is made of a number of nationally ranked teams. UCLA holds a two-shot lead over Stanford in the team standings heading into Monday's second round.
Sophomore
Jared Sawada leads the UH contingent after firing a five-over, 77, to tie for 56
th overall. Sophomore #T.J. Kua
and junior Kamden Brakel# are one shot back after a 78 (T63) while freshmen
Alex Chu and
Daniel Koge each shot 79 (T69).
Stanford's Sihwan Kim and TCU's Johan de Beer share the first round lead with a four-under, 68.
Teams will continue play with the second round on Monday followed by Tuesday's third and final round.
