Hawai`i Concludes Home Stand Versus Louisiana Tech

Hiram Thompson and Roderick Flemings wait at halfcourt
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior basketball team closes out its eight-game home stand with a Western Athletic Conference match-up versus Louisiana Tech, Monday, Jan. 5. Tipoff is 7:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors (8-5, 0-1 WAC) look to bounce back from a 70-58 loss to Boise State on Saturday night in the WAC opener for both teams. Roderick Flemings scored a game-high 21 points for the 'Bows and the junior guard currently leads the WAC at 18.2 ppg. UH is 5-2 during its current stretch of homes games and are a perfect 5-0 in Monday night home games this year.

All four road teams won on the opening night of WAC play and Louisiana Tech (7-7, 1-0 WAC) was one of them. The Bulldogs defeated San Jose State, 66-61, as Kenneth Cooper hit a basket and a free throw in the final minute to give the Bulldogs the lead. Cooper finished with a team-high 17 points. La Tech and UH split last year's meeting with each team winning at home.

Following its meeting with the Bulldogs, Hawai`i will head to the road for games at Idaho (Jan. 8) and Boise State (Jan. 10).
