UH Heads To Nevada For Battle With Wolf Pack

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Warrior basketball team makes its second Western Athletic Conference road trip of the year when it faces Nevada on Thursday, Jan. 22. Tip-off is 7:05 p.m. PT (5:05 HT) at the Lawlor Events Center.

The 'Bows have lost three straight games and are in eighth in the WAC standings with a 1-4 mark. UH is led by the WAC's leading scorer, junior Roderick Flemings, who is averaging 17.6 ppg on the season. Flemings has also kept the pace in WAC play, averaging a league-best 17.0 ppg in five conference contests.

Besides its three-game slide, UH looks to put an end to a number of other dubious streaks when it travels to Reno. The 'Bows are 0-3 on the road so far this season and have lost nine straight away games dating back to last season. UH nearly ended that streak in its last game at Boise State, before eventually falling, 54-49.

The 'Bows are also looking for their first-ever road win at Nevada (0-11). The Wolf Pack, the league's preseason favorite, won a pair of home games last weekend with wins over Boise State (77-63) and Fresno State (65-60), and are currently in second place in the WAC while riding a four-game win streak. Nevada is led by freshman forward Luke Babbitt who leads the team in both scoring (15.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg).

Following its trip to Nevada, the 'Bows will have a quick turnaround. UH will host first-place Utah State two nights later on Saturday, Jan. 24 in Honolulu.
