Corie Hou is tied for fifth place – four strokes off the lead – after the first two rounds of the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational. Following the first day of competition on Monday at the Omni Interlocken Resort, the Rainbow Wahine are tied for 15
th place.
Hou, a junior from Clovelly, Australia, shot rounds of 71 and 69, and is tied with Texas Tech's Ulrika van Niekerk. Long Beach State's Kay Hoey and Notre Dame's So-Hyun Park lead the tournament at eight-under par 136.
Hou had three birdies and two bogeys during her one-under 71 first round and six birdies and three bogeys in her three-under 69 second round. Her 69 was the lowest round of her collegiate career, topping a 71 at the Peg Barnard Collegiate during her freshman season.
As a team, Notre Dame shot rounds of 288 and 283 to lead by six strokes over host Colorado (577). The Rainbow Wahine (307-304) are tied with Portland State at 611.
The Heather Farr Memorial concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round at the Omni Interlocken Resort.
