Final Results
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team wrapped up the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational with a 16
th place finish, Saturday, at the University of New Mexico's Championship Course.
Host New Mexico captured the title, out-dueling Pepperdine, with a final-round four-under 287. The Lobos' Jodi Ewart (72-69-72-213) held on for a one-stroke victory over UNLV's Natasha Krishna for the individual title.
For the Rainbow Wahine, junior
Corie Hou was the team's top finisher after shooting a final round 3-over par 76 for a tie for 26
th. Hou concluded the tournament with rounds of 77-74-76 for a 227 total. Senior
Carolina Perez, UH's first and second round leader, finished with an 85 for a three-round total of 237 (76-74-85) and 59
th place. Also competing for UH were freshman
Kelcie Kawano (79-78-80-237/T62nd), junior
Erin Matsuoka (82-86-83-251/T86th), and senior
Phyllis Lai (82-88-88-258/90th).
During the three-round tournament, the Rainbow Wahine finished with rounds of 314-312-324 for a 950 total.
UH will return to Honolulu before departing next week for Boulder, Colo., to compete in the Heather Farr Memorial, Sept. 29-30.
