SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Hawai'i Warrior football sent two defensive players as its representatives for the 2008 Western Athletic Conference Media Preview at the Hilton Salt Lake Airport. Linebackers
Adam Leonard and
Solomon Elimimian, the preseason defensive player of the year, joined head coach Greg McMackin along with the other eight WAC head coaches and selected players.
With five starters returning, the Warriors will rely on their defense this season. Along with Elimimian and Leonard, defensive lineman Fale Laeli, linebacker Blaze Soares and defensive back Ryan Mouton will anchor the unit, which McMackin feels could be better than last year. In 2007, the Warrior defense ranked 34th nationally.
The start of fall camp is a little more than a week away. The season opener is August 30 at Florida and the Warriors' home opener is September 6 against Weber State.
