LONG BEACH, Calif. - The fourth-ranked University of Hawai`i women's water polo team concluded its seven-match road trip with a triple-header sweep Sunday at the Long Beach State-Mini Tournament. The Rainbow Wahine improved to 18-8 overall after suffering two consecutive losses last week to No. 13 Long Beach State and No. 3 USC.
Hawai`i 14, Sonoma State 6
The Rainbow Wahine sealed their first win in their opening match of the tournament, defeating non-conference opponent Sonoma State 14-6.
Angela Turnbull and Leonie Van Der Molen scored a match-high three goals each. Carmen Eggens and Emily Cox also found the net twice. Kelly Mason, Lisa van Raalte, Kristin Swanson, and Ryan Hanson-Swaner added one goal apiece.
Sara Gralitzer had four saves in the match.

Hawai`i next cruised past Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 23-4, in its second match of the day.
The Rainbow Wahine were led by Leonie Van Der Molen, who scored a match-high four goals. Angela Turnbull, Lisa van Raalte, and Maxie Groh also added three goals apiece.
UH scored 10 goals in the second quarter while holding CMS scoreless, giving the Rainbow Wahine a 12-point lead at the half. Hawai`i went on to score another 10 goals in the second half of the match. The team's 23 goals was a season-high for the Rainbow Wahine and three shy of a school record for most goals scored.

The Rainbow Wahine concluded the tournament with a third consecutive win, 16-4 over Pomona College.
Kristin Swanson, Emily Cox, and Leonie Van Der Molen had match-high three goals apiece. Angela Turnbull and Carmen Eggens also found the net twice.
Freshman goalie Sarah Gralitzer held Pomona scoreless at the half and finished the match with 11 saves.
