Warriors In 14th After First Day Of Western Intercollegiate

First Round Results

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (302-310-612) is in 14th place after the first day of the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club Wednesday.

Robert Berton (72-78-150) and Travis Toyama (73-77-150) were UH's top players, tying for 32nd. Kamden Brakel (81-77-158) and Ryan Perez (80-78-158) are tied for 73rd with Kyle Walters (77-83-160) in a tie for 78th.

Michigan State holds the tournament-lead at seven-over-par. They are followed by St. Mary's (+21), California (+25), Colorado (+26) and UC Irvine (+27).

Individually, St. Mary's Mike McRae has the lead at five-under-par. He's followed by Michigan State's Jack Newman (-4) and Payne Gniewek (+1) and Nevada's Chase Cooper (+2) and Colorado's Derek Tolan (+2).

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round.
