Warriors Finish Off Ron Moore Invitational In Tie For 15th Place

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (288-289-308-885) finished in a tie for 15th at the Ron Moore Invitational at the Palm Valley Golf Club Friday.

Kyle Walters (69-72-77-218) was UH's top finisher, tying for 40th. Travis Toyama (74-69-80-223) and Robert Berton (71-73-79-223) ended up in a tie for 55th, followed by Ryan Perez (76-76-74-226), tied for 64th, and Kamden Brakel (74-75-78-227), tied for 67th.

Kansas State took the team title at 19-under-par. They were followed by Ohio State (-17), Utah (-13), Boise State (-12) and the Canadian Developmental team (-10).

Boise State's Troy Merritt (-16) won individual medalist honors. He was followed by teammate Matt Hastings (-10), Kansas State's Joe Ida and Mathieu Rivard of the Canadian Developmental team (-9), with five others tied for fifth at seven-under-par.

The Warriors will next play in the Western Intercollegiate from March 26-27, in San Jose, Calif.
