Rainbow Wahine Tied For Fourth After First Day Of Fresno State Invitational

First Round Results

FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team finished the first round of the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational in a tie for fourth at 13-over-par (301) at the Copper River Country Club Monday.

Corie Hou led the team, shooting an even-par 72 to tie for third. Xyra Suyetsugu is tied for 18th at three-over-par, followed by Lisa Kajihara and Carolina Perez, tied for 34th at five-over-par and Phyllis Lai (81), tied for 62nd.

Kansas owns the team lead at seven-over-par. They are followed by Tulsa and host Fresno State (+11), UC Davis and Hawai`i (+13), San Francisco (+14) and Nevada and UC Irvine (+16).

Long Beach State's Lindsey McAtee is the individual leader at three-under-par. She's followed by Kansas' Meghna Bal (-1), Hou, San Francisco's Natasha Podmore and Kansas' Emily Powers (E).

The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round, starting at 8:00 a.m. Pacific time.
