Hawai`i jumped out to an early 6-2 edge on the strength of a 4-0 serving run by Cubi-Otineru. After allowing the Wolf Pack back within three points at 9-6, UH ran off eight of the next nine points to go ahead 17-7. The Rainbow Wahine kept that 10-point cushion before ending the set on a 5-1 run that gave UH a 25-12 victory.
Nevada jumped to a 5-3 edge to start the second set. UH scored three of the next four points to tie it up at 6-6, only to see a 3-0 Pack run put UN up 9-6. Nevada got its lead to four points on a couple occasions before a big 7-2 run gave Hawai`i the lead at 17-16. After giving the Wolf Pack the lead momentarily at 18-17, a 6-1 run by the Rainbow Wahine got them to 23-18. UN had one last push, using a 4-1 run to pull it back to 24-23. But Hawai`i stopped it just in time, taking the second set 25-23.
UH opened the third set taking a 7-1 lead. Nevada used a 5-2 run to pull it back to 9-6. But Hawai`i had the answer, getting its lead to 16-8 and 22-13 before closing out the Pack with a 25-16 win in the third set.
