Warriors Host Nevada This Saturday In Critical WAC Game

Game Notes

HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i Warrior football team returns to the islands for a Western Athletic Conference match-up with Nevada, Saturday, Oct. 25. Kickoff is 6:05 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.

The Warriors (3-4, 2-2 WAC) saw their two-game win streak snapped in a 27-7 loss at No. 15 Boise State last Friday in Boise, Idaho. UH held the Broncos to a season-low 10 first half points and trailed by three at intermission. However, the Warrior offense sputtered in the second half as four turnovers led to 17 Bronco points. In fact, 24 of BSU's 27 points come off UH miscues during the game.

The Wolf Pack (4-3, 2-1) defeated Utah State, 44-17, last Saturday in Reno, Nev. Vai Taua rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown while quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw for a touchdown and rushed for two more scores. The Wolf Pack rank 15th nationally in scoring (38.9 ppg), and have the nation's second-best rushing offense (305.3 ypg).

The Warriors and Wolf Pack have met 12 times with each team winning six. In Honolulu, UH leads 5-3 including all four wins in WAC play. In 2006, the Wolf Pack nearly overcame a 20-point fourth quarter deficit but the Warriors hung on to a 41-34 victory at Aloha Stadium.
