Day 2 Results
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team shot an impressive 305 in Tuesday's second round of the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational at the New Mexico State Golf Course.
The Rainbow Wahine shaved seven strokes off of their first-round score, carding the fifth lowest team score of the second round, and moving from 15
th to 7
th place at 41-over par (312-305-617).
Still leading the way for UH is freshman
Kelcie Kawano (76-74-150) who improved her first-round score by two strokes, shooting a 74. Kawano was tied for 29
th after the first round, but moved up 13 places and is currently tied for 12
th.
Junior
Corie Hou (79-74-153) also shot a 74 on the round, improving her first-round score by five strokes, and is currently tied for 24
th place. Also competing for the Rainbow Wahine are senior
Phyllis Lai (78-77-155/T33), senior
Carolina Perez (79-80-159/T51), and junior
Erin Matsuoka (81-83-164/T79).
UC Irvine held on to the tournament lead at 19-over par (293-302-595), while Oklahoma moved into second place with a 299 on the round (299-299-598). Jane Chin of UC Irvine, who was the individual leader after the first round, dropped to second place at even par (70-74-144). Julia Potter of Missouri took the lead after shooting a 69, the lowest score of the second round (73-69-142).
The third and final round of the tournament will be played on Wednesday at the NMSU Golf Course.
