HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i women's tennis team had a strong showing Friday, the second day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the UH Tennis Complex. UH picked up two singles victories and one double win.
The tournament includes teams from TCU, UC Santa Barbara, Hawai`i Pacific, and host UH and features both a singles and doubles individual format.
In individual action,
Sophie Kobuch, ranked No. 69 nationally, beat Natalia Loazano of UC Santa Barbara 6-1, 6-4. The second individual victory came from
Natasha Zorec, who beat Sofia Novak of UC Santa Barbara 7-5, 6-1.
In doubles action, the team of Zorec and
Alyssa Nafarrete beat Bryanna Ojeda and Sofia Novak of UC Santa Barbara 9-7.
