HONOLULU - The University of Hawai`i women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Pac 10 and 72nd-ranked Washington, Sunday, at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine's (0-3) losses have all come against nationally ranked teams.
In doubles play, the duo of sophomore Sophie Kobuch and senior Chloe Bihag played a great match and won against the team of Joyce Ardies and Tara Simpson, 8-4, at the No. 1 position. The duo of freshmen Jennifer Goldman and Natasha Zorec lost a heartbreaking 9-7 decision to Aleksandra Krsljanin and Vanja Radunovic at the No. 3 court.
In singles play, the Rainbow Wahine lost all six matches. UH's Kobuch lost a tight, hard fought 7-5, 6-4 match to Venise Chan at the No. 1 court. Kobuch has a 4-2 record on the 2008 season.
The Rainbow Wahine will make their first road trip of the spring season, competing in two dual matches in Southern California. UH will play San Diego on Feb. 21 and No. 49 San Diego State on Feb. 22.
