Day One Results
ST. GEORGE, Utah - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team shot an opening round 313 to put themselves in 15th after the first day of the NCAA West Regional at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Thursday. The round marked the first played in the NCAA tournament in the history of UH women's golf.
Xyra Suyetsugu and Corie Hou both shot 76, tying or 37th after the first round. Dale Gammie is tied for 68th with a 79, followed by Nancy Shon, tied for 82nd with an 82 and Lisa Kajihara, tied for 98th with an 87.
Stanford holds the team-lead after the first day with three-over-par 287. They are followed by Brigham Young and Oklahoma State (+7, 291), Arizona State (+10, 294) and UC Irvine (+11, 295).
Individually, Pernilla Lindberg of Oklahoma State leads at three-under-par. She's followed by Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana of Stanford (-2) and Oklahoma State's Amanda Johnson, Denver's Stephanie Sherlock and Pepperdine's Jayvie Agojo (-1).
The tournament continues with the second round tomorrow before concluding the final round on Saturday, May 12.
