RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The fourth-ranked University of Hawai`i women's water polo team closed out the regular season with a pair of non-conference wins over Hartwick, 9-5, and California Baptist, 7-5, today at the Lancer Aquatic Center.
The Rainbow Wahine jumped out to a four-goal lead in the first two quarters against Hartwick and never looked back, winning 9-5. The loss snapped the Hawks' 14-game win streak.
In the second match, UH trailed 5-3 in the third quarter before pumping in four unanswered goals to secure the victory, 7-5.
Hawai`i completes the regular season with an overall record of 15-8 and are 9-3 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
UH is idle next week before travleing to Tempe, Ariz., for the MPSF Championship, hosted by Arizona State.
