Rainbow Sailors Place Fifth At McIntyre Team Race

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i coed sailing took on some of the top teams from across the country before finishing fifth at the McIntyre Team Race hosted by Stanford, March 3-4. The Rainbows finished with a 5-4 mark in the round-robin competition.

Six teams of the ten team in the regatta were ranked in the Sailing World Top 20 - No. 2 St. Mary's College (Md.), No. 5 USC, No. 9 UC Irvine, No. 10 Stanford, No. 11 South Florida (11) and No. 18 UH. Despite light breeze all weekend, a full set of races were completed with St. Mary's winning the competition with a perfect 9-0 record.

Competing for UH Mike Scott, Andrew Meade, William Whitman, Mark Spector, Crystal Bronte, Brittany Peterson and Pamela Magasinn.

Next up for the Rainbow sailors is the Truxton Umsted, March 17-18, in Annapolis, Md.
