HONOLULU - On the final day of the Aloha Invitational, the University of Hawai`i women's tennis team lost a 6-0 decision to Pac-10 powerhouse and fifth-ranked California, Sunday at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Wahine dropped to 4-12 while the No. 5 Golden Bears improved their record to 15-3. California has won seven straight dual matches.
UH dropped all six singles matches in straight sets. At No. 1, freshman Sophie Kobuch gave 17th-ranked Nina Henkel a tough second set before losing, 6-0, 6-3. Junior Chloe Bihag gave a valiant effort in her lost to California's Marion Ravelojaona, 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 3 court.
The doubles matches were cancelled shortly after they started due to rain.
The Rainbow Wahine will next play three matches on the road against Loyola Marymount, Cal Poly, and UC Santa Barbara beginning on April, 4.
