First Day Results
KANE`OHE, O`ahu - The University of Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine golf team (313-314=627) finished the first day of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in ninth place at the Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course Tuesday.
Dale Gammie (77-73=150) leads the way for UH, tying for seventh. Xyra Suyetsugu (79-80=159) is tied for 36th, followed by Nancy Shon (81-79=160) and Lisa Kajihara (76-84=160), in a tie for 44th and Carolina Perez (87-82=169), in 72nd.
There are three UH individuals participating. Erin Matsuoka (78-79=157) is tied for 29th, followed by Corie Hou (82-78=160) in a tie for 44th and Phyllis Lai (84-87=171) in 74th.
Arizona is the tournament-leader at 25-over-par. They are followed by Texas A&M (+26), Rollins College (+32) and three teams, Brigham Young, Colorado State and Ohio State, tied at +42.
Individually, UTEP's Germina Mendoza leads at one-under-par. She's followed by Haley Brown of Ohio State and Amanda Wilson of Arizona (+3) and three players at +4.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round, starting at 7:30 a.m.
