UH Places 15th At Truxton Umsted

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team placed 15th at the Truxton Umsted regatta hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy, Match 17-18. St. Mary's (Md) beat out 18 other teams to win a competition that included a total of 36 races in four divisions.

St. Mary's took home two of the four division en route to a 212 point total. Hobart/William Smith College placed second at 239, while the Rainbows were more than 200 points off the pace at 422.

UH's best finish came in the C division as Ryan Wild finished 8th in singlehanded racing. The team's A division squad finished 17th under the direction of Mike Scott, Pamela Magasinn and Will Whitman, while the B division team of Mark Spector, Jackie McLoughlin and Whitman placed 13th. Chip Lollar also raced solo for the Rainbows and finished 16th in the D division.

The 'Bows next return home to host Stanford in team racing, March 24-25, at Keehi Lagoon.
