Warriors Finish Fresno State Lexus Classic In Fourth

Final Results

FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Hawai`i Warrior golf team (300-288-284=872) finished the Fresno State Lexus Classic in fourth place, at eight-over-par, at the Sunnyside Golf Course Tuesday.

Travis Toyama (78-70-67=215) shot a final round 67 to move into a tie for eighth at one-under-par. Kyle Walters (76-68-75=219) used a late eagle to end up at three-over-par, in a tie for 18th. Ryan Perez (79-73-69=221) eagled the last hole of the tournament to move into a tie for 29th at five over, followed by Cody Wolfenbarger (76-77-73=226) and Pierre-Henri Soero (72-78-76=226), who tied for 43rd at 10 over, and Cody Pewarchuk (76-78-75=229) in a tie for 56th.

San Diego State (-15) fought off UC Irvine (-14) for the tournament title. They were followed by Nevada (+6), UH (+8) and Fresno State (+14).

UC Irvine's Brian Edick (-7) won the individual title. He was followed by teammate Jay Choe (-5), Cory Segall of SDSU (-4), Thomas Petersson (-3) and three golfers at two under.

Hawai`i will next play in the Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz, Calif., on March 19-21.
